Newborn :: Riley

April 23, 2019

Newmarket Newborn Photographer

Sometimes we make friends when we least expect it. Sometimes they come into our lives and it seems like we’ve known each other forever. I love my clients and have met some awesome people over the years, but these guys just feel like old friends. It was at their first newborn session a couple years ago that I fell in love with them and so glad they chose me to to capture so many important moments in their lives.

When I found out they were having another baby it just made me so happy. When I heard it’s a girl I was over the moon happy. There’s been a bunch boys in the studio so this was a welcome change!

I really do love what I do and feel like a part of many families because of the trust they put in me to capture these types of moments. So excited to see this little lady grow.

Milestone Sessions

December 1, 2016

Milestone sessions capture those moments where your little one can hold their head up, sit on their own and learn to stand.  These are moments we want to remember and that really go by in a flash.  Babies aren’t babies and are growing into themselves. Little rolls, chubby cheeks, giant grins and tiny hands and feet.

Each baby develops differently so it’s hard to say what month you should schedule your session.  Some things to look for is your little one holding their head up while on their tummy for minimum of 10 seconds consecutively without bobbing or tipping.  Some kids can do this at 3 months and some at 4 months. Once you baby has mastered this you should book your session.

Another great time is when they can sit on their own. They should be able to hold themselves up without any aids and with minimal tipping over.  This stage is when you can get those adorable photos of your baby on their back grabbing their toes and giggling.  They are quick to laugh and make the best faces for the camera. Probably my favourite time!

Lastly, the one year mark is a great way to complete the set of images in your babies first year. These sessions can incorporate some of your little ones favourite things. They have begun to develop their own personality and you can customize their session to make it truly them.

Landon :: 6 Months Session

June 9, 2016

6 month milestone photography is bigger than you think.  I met Landon when he was just a newborn.  He still sort of looks the same but still sort of looks totally different! Kids really do grow fast and I try to stress to my clients how important capturing these moments are.  The things they do and learn in just a short time frame are so easy to forget.  You think you will remember when they started sitting but the second they can stand that memory gets bumped back. It’s true, I learn the hard way every day!

With that said, these sessions are perfect to capture their little personalities. The 6 month milestone is kind of a big deal.  The facial expressions kill me!  Gummy smiles, moments of annoyance with us for trying to pose them, and candid laughter of parents.  These are the things we don’t alway notice every day let alone capture as a memory for an album or our walls.  We all strive for the perfect family photo but if there is anything I have learned since having my daughter is those random photos that you didn’t think were all that great at the moment are actually the ones you look back on and smile at.  The ones that captured your family naturally in the moment.

Looking forward to more smiles from this guy in years to come!

Newborn :: Logan

June 21, 2015

Baby photography keeps you on your toes.  Unless you get one in the studio that sleeps perfectly and lets you do whatever you want without fussing.  Things like this kinda blow my mind.  Even though this little guy peed all over the studio I could never hold it against him.  Nothing a few puppy pads can’t handle.  It’s days like this I love photographing babies.

His parents were great.  So calm and quite.  Maybe not so much their norm, but a baby can do that to you.  Exhaust you and make you slow down to the pace of a sloth. It’s all good. Love when parents come in that way.  I always underestimate the parents affect on little ones though.  This time it couldn’t have worked out better.  Nothing like a calm studio to keep a baby sleepy and cooperative!

Baby Logan not only was super sweet but had the best ‘Ombre highlights’ I have ever seen.  Yes he had subtle frosted tips for those of you not up on the lingo.  Don’t ask me how that’s even possible but his wild hair only made him that much cuter.  Can’t wait to see him grow up. Congrats guys!
