Newborn :: Viann

February 12, 2021

Richmond Hill Newborn boy

Newborn boys know how to steal the ladies hearts. This little guy was no different. When I met his parents at their maternity session, I knew they would have a perfect little sweet heart.  The whole family is soft spoken and calm. Something I don’t have enough of in my life lol. Anyone with small kids can agree! You can see their maternity session HERE.

He totally rocked his session and we were able to get sleepy and awake images. Not always the easiest thing to do.  His little eyes are the cutest and really glad we were able to capture them! I think it’s one thing I regret not getting when I did my own.  That and the tiny feet!

I’m not having baby fever (or at least I keep telling myself that), but I am really looking forward to having some more newborns in the studio.  At least I can get my baby cuddles out of the way! Know anyone excepting? Send them my way!

Milestone Session :: Sebastian

April 15, 2019

Milestone sitter sessions are quickly becoming some of my favourite sessions. There is just the right element of cuteness and unpredictability.  These little ones let their true personality shine and I can tell within minutes if we are going to get a work out of if parents are going to have a hard time choosing their images.

Sebastian is the sweetest little man. He was so cooperative and calm it almost seemed too easy.  Usually, we are up and down, left and right, fixing blankets and props.  I literally could have done 15 set ups with this guy and not even broken a sweat.  His sweet demeanour just made my heart melt.  That and his thighs. I love chubby thighs!!! And those lashes…. OMG those lashes. Because what girl doesn’t desire long lashes!

Milestones are a great way to capture all the little details of babies after then learn to sit.  Between 4 and 6 months are the best time and give us the most options for props and posing.  We all think about milestones being the ‘big’ ones meaning newborn and first birthday, but the time in-between is also momentous. These little ones learn to sit, crawl and even walk.  When you look back, wouldn’t you love to have captured these moments too?!?!

Thom Family Fall Session

November 24, 2013

Oak Ridges parks are stunning.  Why would I keep them a secret.

I met this family just over a year ago and was excited to see Fiona’s email for a family session.  Little Max has been on my mind since I got my hands on a Radio Flyer Fire Truck a month or so ago.  Not really sure why he came to mind but I just had to bring it along for our session. Guess I shouldn’t be so shocked but Max jumped right on and cruised around long enough for me to get the cutest photos of him.  He’s a little man now and his sweet personality is really starting to show.  Guess his parents are doing something right!  Thanks to Grandma and Auntie who helped behind the scenes as it can be difficult to get little ones to focus on the camera during family shoots.  Their funny faces were appreciated.

Link Family

November 14, 2013

Oakridges Family Photography is about to be changed forever. Obviously I had one of my favourite families to help me!

It’s a little known place that lies between Richmond Hill and Aurora in Ontario.  It’s home to Bond Lake which is part of The Oak Ridges Corridor Park Trail.  I want to say it’s like having a forest in the middle of the city and it happens to be very close to my home.  I’m not much for the wilderness but can’t resist the perfect location to do a family session.

I have known the Link family since before the kids were born.  It honestly feels like yesterday.  They aren’t even my kids and I’m saying time flies.  With the calm lake, leaves changing colour, warm breeze and my fave grey skies, this was the perfect day to do this family session.  With broken down stone buildings, tall trees and falling leaves, we got some amazing photos.  These kids are freaking cute and full of energy.  Making for some sweet and some hilarious shots.

As always, looking forward to next time!

Matthew’s Bar Mitzvah

December 4, 2011

You learn something new everyday and this day was no exception.

It all started early in the morning at Chabad Romano Centre. As I lurked around trying to stay out of the way, the men were helping each other put on the Tefillin and the women were doing what they do best….chatting up a storm!

The Bar Mitzvah went extremely well and it was almost like Matthew had done this before…..everything from reading from the Torah to deflecting the candy being thrown at him by all his family and friends. This tradition of throwing gummy candy is to wish the Bar Mitzvah boy a “sweet” life as he makes the transition to adulthood. Not going to deny that candy flying around is my favourite part.

Speaking of celebrating, the party that evening was no different. With an M&M theme there was no shortage of candy and treats. Matthew’s mom Charlaine put together one of the best candy tables I have ever seen. The only thing that rivalled it was the cake made by Charlaine’s mom.

Lots of sugar equals lots of energy and this night was no exception. Get a bunch of kids, an amazing MC (Stokes from Sole Power www.solepowerproductions.com), some crazy accessories, and you have one heck of a party!

Congrats to the entire family and thanks for letting me be a part of such an important day.
