Newborn :: Ava

November 28, 2020

York Region Newborn Photographer

It’s a small world. I had no clue when this family contacted me that we actually live behind each other. Close enough that they can hear my crazy kids splashing in the pool all summer. Probably heard me telling the kids no to scream so much too! Anyone with daughters know that high pitch screech they do randomly.  I’m sure the whole neighbour hood has heard me begging them to stop making that ear piercing sound.  Anyway, it was great to officially meet this family and their newest addition.

With Covid, I have limited the number of newborn and milestone sessions I offer. We have been taking it seriously and especially with little ones, I want to be able to air out the studio and clean the props as best as possible.  I feel like I haven’t had baby snuggles in so long and could have just cuddled this little lady forever!

Newborn :: Mirahbelle

January 10, 2020

Newborn photography is growing in popularity. With cameras attached to phones, iPads and basically any other device, we have left no moment missed. That being said, there are times when hiring a professional can make the world of difference. I love when families share pride in their new little ones and want to capture these first few moments. The tiny features, squishy little faces, and everything in between. More so, it makes my heart melt when older siblings are involved and they own their role as big brother or sister. Some are more confident in their ‘sibling’ skills then others, but the photos of them holding their new baby brother or sister are the ones that steal the show.  I try to show kids the back of my camera so they can see how the photos look and how awesome they are doing. Holding a baby is terrifying even to adults, so it’s a great way to get them to participate. And like me, these are always mom’s favourites!

I’ve known this family for a while and was excited when they said they were adding a little girl. She’s perfect in everyday and completely edible. Even at just over a week old, she looks like her adorable big brother. I’m always curious to see who kids look like and what features they have from each parent. In this case, I’m pretty sure she’s big brothers mini me! Only time will tell!

Newborn Photographer Richmond Hill

I have been photographing this family since they got engaged. Seems like forever ago now that we met for coffee and talked about their big day. I even did their winter engagement session while I was pregnant. Nothing like trying to squeeze into snow pants with a baby belly!

Fast forward two kids later and we still stay in touch. It’s families like these that I grow with. We share similar experience around the same time and it means the world to me that they keep coming back.

Every so often I get requests for themed sessions. I secretly love them (and fear them) as there is a lot more thought that has to go into them. There is a creative element that makes my job interesting. It’s no secret these guys are Harry Potter fans and as with their first session, they requested incorporating it into their session. After a lot of back and forth, we decided to do something similar to their first newborn session, but with a different Howarts House. Last time we did the Gryffindor and this time it was Ravenclaw. You can check out their first session here and the most recent below. Love comparing the two! Now these guys need to have two more kids lol.

Newborn Photographer Markham

Newborn photography has always been a love of mine. Now that I have kids of my own it has a whole new meaning. I get how badly we want to preserve the tiny details. I understand how fast they grow. I feel the love for this little person we just met days before.

Having two kids made me desperately want the perfect sibling photo. I didn’t have so much my luck with my own, but this session particularly, let’s just say I have those little hearts in my eyes. These guys totally rocked their session. Couldn’t have asked for better. I guess I shouldn’t be too shocked. I work mainly off of referrals, and the family that passed my name along have been clients for years. Every year I get to see how much they’ve grown and it’s truly an honour.

Think it’s safe to say this little lady is a lucky gal!

Newborn :: Aven

March 30, 2017

Newmarket Newborn Photographer

Don’t know what I love more…her name or her squishy little face!  Probably the squishy face! How cute is the name Aven though?!?! I don’t know any others and it’s so pretty.  Unique names are next to impossible to find unless they are something borderline insane.  Aven is a type of mountain flower in the rose family and simple too perfect for this little lady.

She gave us every expression in the book and completely stole the show.  Easily one of my fave little girls. So much so I have her photo blown up in the studio to life size….maybe even bigger!

Seriously, can’t wait to see her grow up!  Check out that smile!

Mississauga Newborn Photographer

This little family is one of my faves. I photographed their wedding (yes I do weddings too) and now their little Muggle.  Yes that’s a Harry Potter reference and you will know why if you keep scrolling.

It’s such an honour to be there for these milestones in a couples lives.  You almost feel like best friends in the sense that you play a roll in big moments like marriage and starting a family. It’s kinda crazy to me!  If you think about it, you don’t go to all your friends weddings, you meet them after they are married or before kids and therefor don’t get to celebrate these things.

I knew these two were going to ask me to incorporate Harry Potter into their session, but I had no idea how many things they would bring to tell the story.  When parents say they are bringing props I usually cringe a little for the fact that I have no clue what they will look like. I’m a big fan of things looking real.  Like metal/wood vs plastic and so on.  So…. I had no clue what I was in for but so glad they totally nailed it!

Newborn :: Jacob

Stouffville Newborn Photographer

What can I say, he has adorable parents so why wouldn’t he be freakishly cute!

When I found out these guys wanted to incorporate dad’s love for motorcycles into their session I was excited and nervous.  Themes can be tricky as you don’t know the props or how they will work in to an image and still make it look beautiful.  Not going to lie, totally shocked and in love with how cute the final images came out.  Yes they are a beautiful family, we’ve already covered that, but look at Jacob in the helmet. Melt your heart and totally meaningful to them.

Newborns steal my heart almost ever time and looking at these images makes me excited for all the newborns booked in the coming weeks.  Hurry up babies I need a fix!!!

Newborn :: Emily

May 18, 2015

Little girls make me smile. They are so much fun to capture.  Newborn girls are no different   I love all the fun things we get to do with their sessions.  Flowers and pastels… more ideas than I know what to do with.  Don’t get me wrong, I love doing sports themes for boys, just something so fun about all things girly.

Baby Emily happens to be the newest addition to a friends family, so this session had special meaning.  We decided long before she was born, that her and our daughter would be best friends.  I guess only time will tell but if there is one bond it’s going to be the pink! Perfect icebreaker right!?!?!

Congrats to both of you and looking forward to seeing these girls grow up together.

Fresh 48 :: Baby Tyler

May 18, 2015

Fresh 48 sessions are becoming extremely popular and after this session I know exactly why.  These are perfect for those who want to capture the first moments of a babies life but don’t want to have the photographer in the delivery room for the actual birth.  Just like it says, these sessions take place in the first 48 hours of a babies life.

Yes babies grow fast we all know that. But until you have your own you have no idea!  When these guys asked me if I would meet them at the hospital and capture these moments I couldn’t resist.  Not only because they make cute babies but because it’s the one thing I regret not doing myself.  I still remember that time pretty well but who knows 10 or 15 years down the road.  Photographs will always be there even when our memory decides to be selective.

These fresh 48 sessions capture newness like no other. The wrinkles and smushy face.  Ugh it makes me want to do these everyday. If ever there is purity it’s this!

Baby Tyler is so sweet and I couldn’t be more honoured to be there for this moment. Bring on the babies people!

Newborn :: Chase

February 19, 2015

Newborn photography is quickly becoming one of my favourite things to shoot.  When this family contacted me about booking their session I immediately fell in love.  So easy going yet had a plan.  Just my type!  That and they wanted to do a sports theme.  Always my favourite. That and fairy tales for the girls.  Even though I’m not a Canadiens fan, I must say these are some of my fave images.  Not only was he the perfect baby but we had the cutest props. Have you seen those little gloves?!?!!? Who knew such an adorable thing existed.  Guess who’s going shopping next week for some mini hockey gloves?!?!  I foresee many more hockey shoots in my future.  Now if only I could get some Leafs fans in the studio!

Couldn’t have been happier with the way the day went or the way the final images came out.  Just love when things work out so well!  I’m sure this little guy will be a huge sports fan one day whether he likes it or not!  Let’s just hope he’s a hockey fan.

Can’t wait to see him grow up.  Congrats guys!
