Flower Farm Mini Sessions 2022 – Now Booking!

August 4, 2022

Mini Session – York Region Flower Farm

This year’s Flower Farm Mini’s are half sold out! Don’t wait to book your spot as they are limited.  Due to popular demand for golden hour I have limited each night to just three spots. If you are hoping for a little earlier please contact me HERE for more info. The barn has the cutest corner with vines, flowers and obviously old stone and wood. It’s super pretty and you don’t need to worry as much about the sun.

Country Cut Flowers is an adorable family run flower farm in York Region. It has more types of flowers than I can count (and certainly more than I can name). With rolling hills, sun setting in the background, and fields of mixed flowers, it’s like you’re in your own hallmark movie. Kind of unreal and totally stunning. Selfishly, this is my favourite place to photograph families!

Fun little fact – You can book tickets to cut your own flowers! Check out how HERE

Want to see some previous sessions? You may need to dig a little on my blog, but it’s worth it – BLOG

Milestone Session :: Sebastian

April 15, 2019

Milestone sitter sessions are quickly becoming some of my favourite sessions. There is just the right element of cuteness and unpredictability.  These little ones let their true personality shine and I can tell within minutes if we are going to get a work out of if parents are going to have a hard time choosing their images.

Sebastian is the sweetest little man. He was so cooperative and calm it almost seemed too easy.  Usually, we are up and down, left and right, fixing blankets and props.  I literally could have done 15 set ups with this guy and not even broken a sweat.  His sweet demeanour just made my heart melt.  That and his thighs. I love chubby thighs!!! And those lashes…. OMG those lashes. Because what girl doesn’t desire long lashes!

Milestones are a great way to capture all the little details of babies after then learn to sit.  Between 4 and 6 months are the best time and give us the most options for props and posing.  We all think about milestones being the ‘big’ ones meaning newborn and first birthday, but the time in-between is also momentous. These little ones learn to sit, crawl and even walk.  When you look back, wouldn’t you love to have captured these moments too?!?!

Family Photos :: Cousins

January 2, 2014

Family photos will always be one of my favourite things to shoot.  I wish back in the day my mom used a professional photographer. Maybe then half the heads wouldn’t be cut off or photos wouldn’t be blurry or have a finger across the lens.  Then again I wish she used a professional to cut my hair too.  She told me it’s cute that your bangs are crooked and choppy.  It’s the style.  Even before the world of DIY and Pinterest was around she thought she could do it just like the professionals.  Maybe one day I will share.  Maybe not.

When I got the email from these girls moms, I was excited to be shooting some of my husbands cousins kids.  I hadn’t really had a chance to get to know the mom’s as timing at family events just never really worked out.  So glad we finally got to chat as they are fantastic.  Don’t know why I would expect anything less from family but you just never know.  This brings me to how freaking cute their daughters are. Guess good genes run in the family!

As always the weather had a mind of it’s own and decided to rain just as we were starting the session. Grey skies can be a photographers best friend and worst enemy.  Glad we got do some outdoor shots…mind you the ones we got inside crack me up.  Just never know until your in the moment what’s going to work.

Would you believe when I was driving away the sun came out and it was that beautiful yellow glow that everyone wants for their photos. Never fails!  Thank you Mother Nature for being sooooo cooperative.  Don’t panic though.  These girls are too cute for a little rain to take down!

Little Chloe

September 26, 2013

Kids photography is always fun.  They are naturally adorable and with all their energy, it’s never dull.  Chloe was no exception.  She may be small but she has a big personality and it showed!  To get kids comfortable with their session I try to include them in setting up the shoot.  Normally they are a little hesitant but not this one. She was all over it like she was the photographer.  ‘Now what can I help with’ she kept saying…I really hope she does this with the cleaning at home!

As with every child they lose interest in their session pretty quickly.  Cue the trickery!  This time we told her there was a little bird inside the camera and she could only see it if she looked at the camera.  The ‘fib’ really came to life as a pink feather flew out of my props.  I used a couple pink boas in past sessions and those feathers are everywhere!  All over my house and apparently stuck to my props.  No complaints in this case though!  It made it believable.  I’m just glad Chloe didn’t catch on that there are no Hot Pink birds out there!

Trinity Bellwoods Park in Toronto has the White Squirrel and now High Park has the Hot Pink bird!  Let the rumors begin!!!

Payton’s Vintage Session

September 7, 2013

Little Miss Payton rolled up to her vintage session and rocked it.  Her big blue eyes and sneaky little smile was only the beginning.  Clearly she knows what she’s doing in front of the camera and it made my job much easier.  This vintage session included a doll pram, old school Disney book, distressed crates and a few other props.  Tie it all together and we were able to capture some stunning images that fit the theme.  Once you see these shots you will know why I had so much fun.  As always Phyllis Rawlinson Park in Richmond Hill made the perfect backdrop. LOVE this place!

Little Sophia

July 15, 2013

Children’s photography is never easy.  Yes Sophia is ridiculously cute, yes she’s well behaved, but man alive she has a mind of her own.  We tried everything to get her to wear the hat.  “Trust us you will look sooooo cute” we said but no….she knew it was a trick to get her to wear it.  I’m pretty sure she threw that thing off her head 20 or 30 times before we got enough shots.  You have to admit it was really adorable and totally worth the fuss.

When I initially talked to Laura I knew that she would be game for something really out there.  A little less traditional and a lot more unique.  In comes the tea party suggestion.  This is something I had seen on Pinterest in which a photographer took two little girls, dressed them up, put them in a field on some vintage furniture and captured their little tea party.  It’s still on my bucket list of things to shoot but I had an idea for Laura, Stefan and Sophia.  With agreement from Laura, we volunteered Stefan as Sophias tea party guest of honour.  Him and the stuffed pig that is.

Donned in tattoos, a boa and pearls this tea party was like no other.  A sweet cup of tea turned into banging tea cups and tossing cakes around.  This was not your typical ‘High Tea’!

Take a peek at what might be my favorite shoot to date!

Max’s First Birthday

September 9, 2012

First birthday’s can make a kid smile!

When we think of birthdays, we think of the person who’s getting older.  Not the parents of the birthday boy or girl.  They have just as much to celebrate as the one blowing the candles out.  Through my conversations with Fiona, I realized this first birthday shoot had more meaning behind it.

Back in 2006, Fiona was diagnosed with breast cancer and starting a family was put on hold.  Something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.  Today she has Max.  She kicked cancers butt and now has the perfect family.

To celebrate everything that Sept. 2 means to this family, we did a shoot that incorporated all elements.  Including a giant number 1 sign that Max painted with his body.  Not only is he freaking cute…..he’s talented too!

Happy 1st Birthday Max (Fiona and Ryan)!  Hope the day was full of joy and yummy cake!
