The Grossman Family

September 26, 2013

Family photos are becoming more and more popular.  They say kids grow up so fast and it seems like everyone is starting to realize that.  Cue the family photography. These are The Grossmans and like many other people that contact me, they too realized it’s been a while since they did family photos.  Before you know it your daughters are dating and your boys are getting pulled over for speeding.  That’s how it goes right?!?!

Just so happened that our cottage is near theirs.  The weather wasn’t cooperating but what better location to do family photos than on the water.  Lagoon city is on Lake Simcoe and this provided the perfect backdrop to their session.  Pretty sure that made up for the rain we had to deal with. I’m pretty sure I would have pulled up a chair and spent the day if the sun was shining.  Maybe next time!

Red Sky At Night…

September 5, 2011

Red sky at night…Sailors delight….or something to that effect.

Had to share some shots I took this weekend up at the cottage on Balsam Lake. The weather was less than sunny but late evening turned into one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. Shades of pink and purple covered the sky from one end to the other and bursts of yellow helped to define stunning view.

It was just the night before that clouds filled the sky as we sat on the dock watching the thunder and lighting in the distance. After the crazy storm in Toronto a couple nights ago, hundreds of unreal photos surfaced with lighting hitting the CN Tower. Made me wonder if I could capture something similar. My arms went numb holding the camera steady waiting for the lighting to strike but I managed to get a few good shots. One even looks like early evening even though it was late night and the brightness was actually lightning above the clouds.

Crazy how bad weather can be so amazing!
