Our own family session

Jen Short – The One Behind The Camera
I know I’ve said it before, but I really do understand what a family goes through before their session and during. All the outfit shopping, convincing family just to cooperate for the session and then all the feelings during and after. It’s alot.
For me, these photos are all I want all year. I mean, maybe more then once, but I don’t care about gifts anymore or material things. I want memories. Going places, doing things and photos of my fave people. Sounds like my family got off easy, but it is a whole ordeal. Nothing is simple and that might just be my life motto.
This session is no different. I ordered a couple dresses from my fave store – Free People. I paid 1/3 in duties and taxes so that was fun. One made me look like a frumpy hippo and the other made my back rolls hang out. I had plans to alter the dress a tad, but as we know with all Pinterest ideas or projects for ourselves, it never happens. So I spent a good part of the session tucking my back into the gap in the dress. It looks great at most angles lol. The other ones you will never see!
I crammed one child into shoes 2 sizes too small then spent another portion of the drive (and session) telling her it’s fine, they look good and we will work quickly.
Just to add to the mix, my youngest had some crazy rash all over her body. Why not. Why would anything go smoothly with kids!
So after all that I got the most stunning images back. This is why you should trust your photographer!
